Jet ski hire in Lanzarote: what to know

AD Jet Ski runs guided jet ski safaris from Puerto Calero marina, on the south coast of Lanzarote. Everyone drives their own jet ski, behind an instructor who leads the route. These are the questions first-time riders usually ask.

A guided safari, no licence needed

Every trip goes out with an instructor who leads the route and sets the pace for the group. That is why no boat licence or previous experience is required: a full safety briefing is given before departure and everyone wears a vest. You drive your jet ski; the instructor takes care of the route and of safety.

20, 40 or 60 minutes

The 20-minute trip is a first taste; the hour is the one that covers the most coastline. The route follows the south coast of the island, towards Papagayo. Each jet ski takes one rider or two: on a double, driver and passenger share the price.

From Puerto del Carmen and Playa Blanca

We leave from Pontoon J at Puerto Calero marina. From Puerto del Carmen it is about 5 km, ten minutes by car, and bus line 161 stops there too. From Playa Blanca or Costa Teguise, around half an hour. The marina has parking, restaurants and a promenade for anyone waiting ashore.

Who can drive

Drivers must be over 18; riders aged 16 to 18 can drive with signed consent from a parent or guardian. Passengers can ride on a double jet ski from age 5. No experience is needed, and although basic swimming is recommended, the vest stays on for the whole trip.

What to bring

Swimsuit, towel and sun protection. Sunglasses with a strap and a rash guard help with the sun and the salt. The vest and the rest of the kit are provided. Your confirmation email says what time to be at the pontoon.

Booking, weather and changes

Booking is online, with the real availability of each departure. In high season we recommend booking 48 hours ahead; to ride within the next three hours, call us. If the sea does not allow the trip, it moves to another day at no cost or is refunded in full.
